Worked out in the yard all day today (and yesterday), feels so good to be out there again! The creeping Charlie is doing well, as are the dandelions. We're enjoying the Ruby Throated Hummingbird that hangs out around our deck, and the Pileated Woodpecker who lives out back of the house, he's just huge, about 17 inches from head to tail! WE LOVE SPRING!

It has been lovely lately, hasn't it?
Did you take these pictures???
I heart Pileated Woodpeckers. We get them at our back yard feeders. Spectacular birds.
Worked outside again all day today pulling a HUGE patch of Helianthus (sp?), the Prairie Sunflower, and transplanting about 60 patches of them down closer to the edge of the woods in a sunny place. No, I did not take the bird photos, but hubby took the photo of the "fen", the water and moss photo. They are abundant around here, a really cool geologic feature with fauna around them that only grow near fens.
Those pileateds always made me think of pterodactyls.
I love to work outside, but it's always depressing to come back INSIDE to the dust and clutter.
