HAPPY SPRING!

In celebration of the Spring Equinox and of Easter,
we fashioned these hats on Sunday afternoon!
Cheesecake Maven's daughter in her Easter Bonnet that we all decided was based on the theme, "Energy Power Plant", she later added the smoke from the smoke stacks.
Here's Happy to be from Iowa and her daughter in their new fashions. You can't see them here, but her daughter's hat has at least 30 little eyes glued on to it, sort of like a
"Steven King short story" themed hat.
Here's the "Scarlet O'Hara" hat of the day - it won for largest diameter and sheer beauty!
Happy to be From Iowa's daughter's hat, detail. Isn't that a beauty!
Another one of the cousins' hats. This one had a beautiful light green and white
polka dot underside (the hat did, not the cousin!)
Three cousins, three Easter bonnets!
Happy to be from Iowa and SE enjoying Easter Sunday in their new creations.

Happy Spring Equinox and Happy Easter!

"I my Easter Bonnet with all the frills upon it.."

I love it!

Can I steal this idea next year?

Missy - YES!!! It is so fun for all ages! You start with about four layers of newspaper, double pages, draped over the head, then packaging tape around the crown to form 'hat band area'. Then, one sheet of wrapping paper on top of that and a couple more rounds of packaging tape. Then you pull up the paper from away from the face, take off the 'hat' and start decorating! It is that simple! Have fun!

What fun- everyone looked lovely. I don't know if I could convince my two brothers that this should be our new tradition. But I'm certain my daughters would love it. The light green polka-dot is most fab.
